Just an out of the box RC4WD Bully...
At the moment it has two Novak 55T motors with stock Bully pinions, and an ACE 1015DS high torque servo fitted.
The axles have been stripped, greased and rebuilt and threadlocked.
The slim RC4WD shocks are pencilled in to be replaced asap with Losi shocks but for now the shafts were polished with T-Cut to give a smoother operation. Ruffryder reckons red or black Tamiya o-rings do not cling to the shafts as easily as the softer stock items.
The links have been adjusted to stop the binding that was occuring.
Now I need to decide on two Mamba Max's and a servo operated switch for dig or one Mamba Max and a Punk RC Dig switch....? |

| What the reasoning behind that Neilus? Cost, weight or ease of use? |

| I found that with 1 esc i was much faster and confident through the course. I recently tried 2 x Tekin FXR's, and i find i am now spending far too much time messing with the mixing while i'm driving. I don't think that 2 esc's makes enough of a difference for me to stick with it. Others may disagree, but i'm going back to 1 and a Punk |

Watching this one with interest!
I'm in the same boat, deciding about 1 or 2 fx-r's. If two will give the edge then I think it is worth trying! This is what I was talking about in my thread, hacking the tx to provide easier control of the two esc's.
Punk digs are hard to find, yet an FX-r isn't that much more expensive!

| thought novak made a dig. Might be bit easier than getting a punk one? |

You still need 2 esc's to use the Novak one. |

| I'm in much the same boat really. Punkrc Dig Switch is a nice easy way to go,but they seem to be unobtainable. If I went the Novak route, it would make sense to go totally bananas with a twin brushless set up. I think I've got the links about right now, just got to select shocks. I'm looking at Axial 70/103's. I might even try a semi droop set up on the front. However,I've still got a fair way to go yet. |

had a good look around the net, and reading between the lines, it seems that brushless systems are dead so far as crawlers go!
Also got a feeling that the gear ratio on the berg axles are only just barely low enough. This is suggested by the very low tooth count on the motor pinion! If this turns out to be true in practice, then more modifications ahead!
Wolverine, will be interested to see if not clocking the axles will be an obvious disadvantage or not!

| Had a look on Punkrc's site and apparently the dig is on back order 'til Oct. 10th. I wonder why. Maybe demand has outstripped production of it.Or has a problem reared it's head. |

A couple of points, The Bully axles are already clocked more than the standard Bergamungus axles.
And my second point is, I have seen and driven a couple of Brushless MOA`s, 1 Bully and 1 Berg. The Brushless suited the axles especially in the Berg. Twin Goats being used, the rig was very nice to drive incredible low speed and loads of grunt when needed. |

| Ezruns, well they are ok but they are sensorless. For a crawler you really need sensored motors. |
